Reverse Story

1. Story in Reverse

The end is just the beginning. Narrate your story starting from the climax.

Rules and Regulations:
  • Participation: Open to individual participants only.
  • The Challenge: Participants are provided an ending line and must write a story leading up to it.
  • Word Count: Minimum 500 words; Maximum 1000 words.
  • Time Limit: Total time allotted is 60–90 minutes.
  • Language: The story must be written in English.
  • Prohibitions: Use of mobile phones, internet, or reference material is strictly prohibited.
  • Judging: Based on creativity, logical flow, and how effectively the story justifies the ending.
Event Description:

Construct a meaningful beginning and middle that naturally connects to a pre-decided ending. Example Ending: "And that was the day I realized the treasure was never gold."

Debate

2. Turncoat Debate

The ultimate test of perspectives. Switch sides and argue against yourself.

Switch your stance on the topic mid-speech at the judge's signal.

Rules and Regulations:
  • Topic Allocation: Each participant will be given a topic or motion on the spot.
  • Format: Participants must speak both in favour and against the motion within the allotted time.
  • The Switch: The switch can happen at any point during the speech based on the moderator's signal.
  • Prohibitions: Use of notes, mobile phones, or external help is strictly prohibited.
  • Time Limit: Total time is 3–4 minutes per participant.
Event Description:

Think fast and speak faster. This dynamic event tests your logic, adaptability, and presence of mind by requiring you to switch sides of an argument mid-speech.

Creative Writing

Unleash your imagination and paint pictures with your words on given prompts.

Rules & Regulations:
  • Mode: Conducted in individual mode only.
  • Task: One image will be displayed to all participants at the venue.
  • Title & Narrative: Participants must give an appropriate title and write an essay based on it.
  • Submission: Answer sheets must be submitted on time at the end of the one-hour duration.
  • Judging: Based on creativity, relevance, writing skills, and depth of interpretation.
Event Description:

Creative Writing challenges participants to interpret visual stimuli into a compelling narrative based on a single image.

Spellbee

4. Spellbee

Master the letters, rule the word. A competition to test your spelling skills.

Competition Rounds:
  • Round 1 (Basic Spell): Test basic accuracy; incorrect spelling leads to elimination.
  • Round 2 (Rapid Fire): Spell 5 words in 60 seconds—test speed under pressure.
  • Round 3 (Audio-Visual): Identify and spell words based on audio clips or image hints.
  • Round 4 (Tie-Breaker): High-difficulty uncommon words; first mistake results in elimination.
Rules Summary:
  • Participants may ask for word meaning or usage in Round 1.
  • No repetition of words is allowed during the Rapid Fire round.

5. One Word One World

  • Judging: Based on creativity, relevance, writing skills, and depth of interpretation.

This competition fosters deep imagination by challenging students to transform a silent picture into a piece of literature.

6. Silent Canvas (Poster without words)

Let your art speak where words fail. Convey a message through visuals alone.

Rules & Regulations:
  • Team Size: Participation allowed in teams of exactly two members.
  • Format: Final output submitted in JPG or PNG format (A3 size).
  • Constraint: No words, letters, numbers, or slogans permitted on the main poster.
  • Software: Use After Effects, CapCut, VN, or Canva Animation.
  • Defense: One minute verbal explanation during judgment.
  • Verification: Screenshots during the process required to ensure originality.

7. Six Word Story - Tech Edition

Brevity is the soul of wit. Write a complete tech-themed story using exactly six words.

Rules and Regulations:
  • Word Count: Must contain exactly six words—no more, no less.
  • Formatting: Digits and hyphenated words count as one word.
  • Theme: Must follow a Technical/Engineering theme.
  • Restrictions: Titles are not allowed; only one entry per participant.
Example: "Code failed. Coffee saved project."
